About PRISM

Mission Statement:

..."The vision of PRISM is to incorporate values of diversity, appreciation of GLBTQ culture, and the reverence of acceptance nationally and on Truman State University's campus.  Furthermore, we seek to have leaders emerge from our group with high ideals and the resolve to strive for the attainment of full civil liberties for gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender people across the globe.  In addition, PRISM will provide a comfortable climate on this campus for GLBTQ students and their straight allies."
 

Goals

PRISM will strive to get "sexual orientation" added to the faculty non-discrimination policy.

PRISM will attempt to provide campus awareness of GLBTQ issues.

PRISM will educate the campus about GLBTQ culture, and try to gain acceptance for GLBTQ students.

PRISM will work hard to find straight allies, so PRISM is not exclusive to just gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students.
